Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican-American sportscaster. She anchors SportsNation and serves as a SportsCenter anchor. Since 2016, Collins has was a part of ESPN. Her mother is the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been so since her age of nine. Her ability in this area helped her to get her first job at Univision, Miami. She worked as a producer for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Her next assignment was a Sports Reporter at the CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. After 2009, the news reporter relocated from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she worked for KNVO TV 48 Univision as in addition to Fox2 News. The stories she covered were about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking in both Texas as well as Mexico. Also, she was often asked to serve as a weather and sports anchor. Later, she was the anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. In the following years, she was given more responsibility. She reported on the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and NBA Postseason and the finals for FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was host of the local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was hired as anchor for sports by Despierta America Deportes for their morning show. In the same capacity she was employed by Primer Impacto (a network magazine) as well as Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports channel). Antonietta Collins was a native of Veracruz, Mexico. At some point they relocated to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She also has an older sister. Her family relocated to Miami in 1992 following the departure from Mexico. Soon after the family split up, and in 1995 Fabio Fajardo remarried. He passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. The time of summer when she was with her sister at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten a job. Antonietta was a senior high school student however, she was very aware of her career goals. She went to Mount Union University to determine if they suited her. The campus was a dream for her. It also gave her the program she was interested in. Following the completion of her high school education, she was accepted into the university to study media studies. Professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was a part of the class, established a lasting relationship with her. Her professor urged her to be confident and was deeply touched by his enthusiasm for journalism.
